Family Note from Scott: July 20, 2004

Thanks to everyone for your faith and prayers over the course of this pregnancy.   It sounds like between Steph and Dad that all the latest has been covered.   We have been very appreciative of the NICU staff.   They have done a wonderful job with both boys and with us.   Amie and I have shed a lot of tears.   Cooper looked absolutely perfect.   My sister-in-law was crying yesterday and her daughter asked her why.   Before she could respond, Isaac said, "She’s sad because my baby brother is in heaven."   They are close to the spirit aren't they?   We will make the funeral arrangements today.   Again, thank you for your faith and prayers.   I am so grateful that this all took place here in Utah around family rather than in Las Vegas.

Love,

Scott, Amie, Isaac, and Collin

Note from Greg Rasmussen (Paternal grandfather): July 21, 2004

The funeral for little Cooper is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on July 23, 2004, at Myers Mortuary (5865 S 1900 W) in Roy, Utah.   There will be a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30, followed by a family prayer.   We will then go to the Washington Heights Cemetary (4500 Washington Blvd) for a short graveside service.   Bishop Duncan's (Amie's dad) ward relief society will then provide a luncheon in Clinton.

Collin wasn't doing as well today as he has done.   The doctor told us it is normal for these little people to have ups and downs.   Collin has some blood leakage from a small hole in his heart.   The hole should close on its own, given time, but the doctors may need to go in and surgically close it.   Amie got to hold Collin plus all of his tubes and monitors last night and she enjoyed that.

Scott and Amie wanted me to tell you how grateful they are for your prayers, cards, phone calls, etc.   Scotty said he was doing OK today until he had to order flowers for the funeral.   Amie will be released from the hospital tomorrow.
